Dražgoše is an elongated settlement on the elevation of about 700-980 m on the slope of south-west edge of Jelovica plateau (Dražgoška gora). It is situated 4 km northern from Železniki.
This area is famous by the battle from the second WW. In January 1942, the Cankar battalion fought against the Nazi military division here. It was the first Slovenian frontal battle in WWII, which broke the myth of Nazi invincibility and slowed down the genocide in the region.
