Waterfall Šum on Nemiljščica stream used to be a very popular tourist destination in the beginning of the 20th century. Even postcards were made. Nowadays it seems to be forgotten and hidden in a wild ravine.

The waterfall is a slide flow type on a rock slope. While the measured height is approximately 18 m, it might be even higher. Local people are proud to have such a magnificent waterfall, so a well-maintained path leads from the nearby village.

ACCESS:

From the centre of Kranj, the waterfall is only 8 km away. Follow the local road towards Spodnja Besnica until you reach the village Nova vas.

There is a waymark in the village. A fine path with wooden stairs leads from the edge of the settlement to the bottom of the ravine. It is a 15-minute hike and the waterfall can be accessed in any season.
